Job summary

Associated Engineering in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Alternate Delivery to lead project management and business development for infrastructure initiatives. The role involves coordinating design, cost estimates, specifications, contracts, and client relations at the Edmonton office.

The successful candidate will manage projects from concept through delivery, aligning schedules and budgets while mentoring teams and pursuing new opportunities within Canada.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited institute.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA or a certified technologist with ASET.
  • Seven or more years of progressive experience.
  • Assistant Project Management experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Committed team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel within Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in design, cost estimates, specs and contract documents.
  • Participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Lead project delivery and business development with existing and new clients.
  • Mentor and support engineering and technologist teams.
  • Deliver projects on budget and within schedules.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing a leadership role in the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and site reviews.
  • Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases; managing existing clients; and developing new clients.
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Providing advice and support to other Project Managers on project delivery.
  • Preparing proposals and undertaking business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Acting as the primary contact for all project-related client communications.
  • Participating in mentoring and coaching teams of engineers and technologists.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your design teams as well as other disciplines and offices.
Does this sound like you?
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institute or diploma in Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA or a certified technologist with ASET.
  • Seven or more years of progressive experience.
  • Assistant Project Management experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Committed team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Highly motivated and interested in career advancement.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel within Canada.
