Join Kardium's team to help improve lives worldwide. We have developed a groundbreaking medical device for diagnosing and treating atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder that can lead to stroke, heart failure, and other complications.

Our mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. We created The Globe Pulsed Field System, a product with strong, unique differentiators in the market, supported by key opinion leaders already using our system. We are now focusing on regulatory approvals and launching this innovative technology to patients.

This role involves working within Kardium’s Quality Engineering team to support manufacturing of a complex class III medical device, vital as we scale production for our upcoming commercial launch.

This position is hybrid, based in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure Kardium produces high-quality medical devices that impact patient lives. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Developing a thorough understanding of our products and manufacturing processes, and applying this knowledge proactively.
  2. Investigating, reviewing, and dispositioning non-conforming products and materials.
  3. Conducting detailed technical investigations, root-cause analyses, and benchtop testing in collaboration with engineering experts to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on product quality and process stability through KPIs like yield and cost of quality.
  5. Identifying process trends and collaborating on solutions for improvements.
  6. Supporting long-term projects aligned with Continuous Improvement and creating a world-class manufacturing environment.
What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering; mechanical background is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of quality engineering experience in a technical, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated industries is a plus.
  • Proven skills in failure investigations, root-cause analysis, and handling non-conformances.
  • Familiarity with statistics and concepts like SPC, FMEA, and process capability.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Motivated, curious, and capable of working independently and in teams.
Compensation and Benefits

The expected total cash compensation ranges from $71,000 to $84,000 CAD annually, including base salary and RRSP contributions. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
