Job summary

MPI, a Vancouver-based mining company, seeks an Area Manager - Process Plant to integrate engineering, procurement, construction readiness, field execution, interfaces and decision‑making to safely deliver work within scope, quality, schedule and cost. The role requires 15–25+ years of senior project leadership in mining or related sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• 15–25+ years of experience leading large-scale mining, mineral processing, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in process plant execution and operational readiness.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting projects through engineering, construction, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Act as the owner's lead for a major process plant and site infrastructure scope.
• Provide leadership on technical reviews, constructability assessments, and long-term asset performance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders to manage interfaces, priorities, risks, and decisions.
• Monitor contractor and EPCM performance against objectives, standards and quality.
• Oversee construction readiness activities including deliverables, mobilization and permitting.
• Lead schedule management, risk mitigation, and cost control.
• Support commissioning, startup and handover to ensure safety and sustained operations.
