Job summary

Universal Rail Solutions is seeking a Process Operator to support day-to-day operations at our Fort Saskatchewan facility. The role focuses on safe, efficient plant operations, preventive maintenance, and working under the direction of the Shift Engineer.

You will monitor performance, assist with railcar loading and material handling, operate equipment such as loaders and skid steers, and follow all safety policies. This hands-on position demands problem-solving and independent work.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to plant alarms.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical capability to perform all job tasks.
  • Competence in the use and care of tools and equipment related to plant operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation trades.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant performance from the field and communicate with the Lead Hand to meet daily operational and loading requirements.
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance activities throughout the plant.
  • Support railcar loading and switching activities.
  • Operate material handling systems and assist with Devco Wet Prilling.
  • Work with liquid sulphur degassing and H₂S scrubbing systems.
  • Assist with truck offloading.
  • Operate equipment including frontend loaders, skid steers, and RCM units.
  • Perform caretaking and minor maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Respond to plant alarms and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and environmental guidelines.

What You’ll Do

Working under the direction of theShift Engineer, the Operator will help ensure smooth and safe plant operations by performing duties such as:
