Job summary

Imperial in Sarnia, ON is seeking a Process Engineer intern to support refinery operations within the Product Solutions team. This role offers hands-on experience across process engineering, environmental engineering, and maintenance reliability, with a focus on safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operations.

The position targets engineering students able to start January or May 2027, with a 4–16 month term. Competitive CAD 63,600–82,320 annual salary is provided, based on skills and education.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process Control, Computer Science, or Environmental Engineering from a Canadian Accredited University.
  • University Engineering student available for a work term beginning in January or May 2027
  • Currently enrolled in a University Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills

What Role You Will Play in Our Team

As an Engineering Intern, you will support one of our specialized teams within the refinery operations, including Process Engineering, Applications & Systems, Environmental Engineering, or Maintenance Reliability Engineer. You will work closely with integrated teams to support day-to-day operations and long-term initiatives, ensuring safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant operations.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $63,600.00 - $82,320.00. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education.
