Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Canada seeks an Engineer - Process to determine operations for machining and assembly, review drawings and data, and plan major engineering project phases. You may develop operation sequences, estimate durations, and prepare operation sheets while acting as an internal consultant on complex projects.

The role requires a university degree in engineering and 3–5 years of related experience, with data collection, statistics, and tools for determining materials and measurement

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO-TS16949 and ISO 14001 and mechanics drawing interpretation (GD&T).
• Experience with CNC, fixtures, tooling, and machining processes; 3–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with production planning to set shop priorities and ensure tools and documentation are available.
• Attend Advance Quality Planning meetings to finalize fixture and tooling designs.
• Interface with suppliers to establish engineering requirements for start of production.
• Investigate processing problems and provide resolutions for assigned projects.
• Prepare quotations for new jobs including material and processing costs, tooling, gauges and capital investments.
• Maintain ongoing process control through quality troubleshooting and improvement investigations.
• Review processes and operator instructions for accuracy and conformance to procedures.
