CDI Engineering Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE), offers a full range of multidisciplinary engineering services, including design, project support, procurement, and construction management for the energy and chemicals industries.

Position Summary

This role is within Norco's Technology Department, primarily supporting small capital projects at the Norco Manufacturing Complex, supporting both Chemicals and Refining Assets. Projects range from $0.2 to $25 million, with responsibilities varying based on project size and complexity.

The key responsibility involves developing process designs, including obtaining quotes for low-complexity projects and leading the development of project documents for larger projects. The role includes leading process engineering efforts during the SELECT/DEFINE phases, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities also include reviewing process diagrams, equipment datasheets, and participating in HazOp studies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop basic data and economic analyses for project front-end development.
  • Prepare modifications of PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Define scope of work for engineering firms across project stages.
  • Manage technical teams to deliver final process designs, ensuring compliance with site requirements and standards.
  • Produce key project deliverables such as feasibility reports, basis of design, process flow diagrams, line lists, equipment datasheets, and safety studies.
  • Lead or support investigations related to process design and support project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and startup phases, including reviews and procedural updates.
  • Maintain safety, technical integrity, and business alignment of process designs.
  • Support project review meetings and technical assessments.
  • Lead or assist with special technical studies and improvement activities.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, developing leadership and interpersonal skills.

This position does not have direct reports but involves leading process engineering teams and interfacing across multiple departments. The role offers flexible schedules, including hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

Minimum 4+ years supporting chemical or refining manufacturing sites, with broad unit experience and familiarity with project processes. Curiosity and proactive questioning are essential.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
