Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks an Intermediate Engineer, Process Control for Thunder Bay or Sudbury offices to support growth in Central Canada. You’ll contribute across front-end studies to field implementation, with a focus on detailed engineering.

The role involves designing, programming, integrating and commissioning PLC, HMI and DCS systems, plus mentoring junior staff and managing deliverables.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years mining or energy engineering experience (consulting preferred).
• Registered P.Eng. in Ontario, Canada.
• Experience with process control design, programming, integration and commissioning.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, industrial control systems/networks and engineering design requirements.
• Strong communication, organization and technical leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel for site work, inspections, commissioning and start-ups.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering work packages for major process control systems in mining and energy projects.
• Execute instrumentation, automation and control scopes while supporting budgets, schedules and project delivery.
• Lead development of engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, specifications, schematic drawings, network systems and panel designs.
• Design, integrate, program and commission PLC, HMI, DCS and industrial communication systems.
• Build strong client relationships and provide technical direction and mentorship to junior team members.
• Contribute to BBA initiatives and foster a positive culture in the Thunder Bay office while delivering high-quality work.
