Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks an Automation Engineer and Project Leader to drive mining/energy projects in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. You will work with Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire offices to develop the region and execute projects on site.

The role requires an engineering degree, 5+ years in automation/instrumentation, PLC/DCS expertise, and bilingual communication in French and English to collaborate across Quebec offices and clients.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in automated production engineering or electrical engineering.
• At least five years of relevant automation/instrumentation experience.
• Knowledge of the Electrical Code.
• Expertise in pre-operational verifications and equipment startup.
• Expertise in PLC/DCS programming.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Advanced French and English skills to collaborate with other offices/clients outside Quebec; depending on projects, English may be used occasionally or daily.
• Asset: ability to draft technical documents in both English and French.
• Asset: expertise in networking.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships to increase BBA’s regional presence.
• Help define the scope of projects and proposals and assist with multidisciplinary bidding processes.
• Assist with control system upgrades, including design, technical specification, and commissioning for mining projects.
• Liaise with other BBA offices to plan, organize and coordinate projects.
• Perform inspections and technical surveys.
• Ensure work complies with budgets, estimates, procedures and schedules.
• Solve problems using a variety of methods and conduct comparative studies.
• Perform commissioning and supervise site work.
