Job summary

The Mosaic Company in Esterhazy, SK invites a Process Control Engineer Co-Op/Intern for Summer 2027. You will learn industrial process control, work with site engineers, and contribute to projects reducing variability and improving recovery.

You’ll build online production dashboards, perform field checks, and participate in safety initiatives while collaborating with operators, engineers, and contractors in a hands-on mining environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or other applicable disciplines.
• Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - travel to and from sites and/or office.
• Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
• Basic computer skills are required; eagerness to learn new skills and develop as an engineer.
• Experience working in a team environment is a must.
• Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop key industrial process control skills to assist site subject matter experts.
• Complete process control projects targeted at reducing operational variability to improve key metrics like recovery.
• Work closely with operations and the process engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
• Support circuit optimization efforts, including KPI tracking, and performance monitoring to sustain operational success.
• Conduct field checks and contribute to system validation for new projects.
• Participate in site safety initiatives including behavior-based safety programs and near-miss reporting.
• Develop and implement online production monitoring dashboards using PI visualization tool.
• Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
• Participate in department and project-specific meetings.
• Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities.

Process Control Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Summer 2027

Where will you work: K2 site at Highway 22. Esterhazy, SK S0A 0X0. Mosaic Potash Esterhazy is an underground potash mine located 90 kilometers south of Yorkton. It’s split between three mine sites - K1, K2 and K3 which will be the largest, and one of the world’s most competitive underground potash mines in the world. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Term

May 2027 up to 8 months Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week. In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.

What you’ll do

• Learn and develop key industrial process control skills to assist site subject matter experts

• Develop and implement online production monitoring dashboards using PI visualization tool.
• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
• Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
