Process and Project Specialist (Job ID: 6745)

Position: Process and Project Specialist

Position Vacancy: Operational Transformation and Community Integration

Work Type: Temporary Full Time until March 31, 2027

Location: WRHN @ Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital, KW Campus)

Home to seven regional programs and comprehensive health-care services, Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN, pronounced wren) is committed to meeting the current and emerging needs in Waterloo-Wellington and beyond.

WRHN is redefining the health-care experience through collaboration and innovation, addressing barriers to access, advancing care delivery, and setting new standards in compassionate, empowered community-driven health care.

At WRHN, every patient is at the centre of everything we do as we strive to improve lives, inspire healing, and build healthier, stronger communities. By listening to patients and partners, we strive to connect communities to the right care, at the right place, and at the right time.

Position Summary :

WRHN has launched its inaugural Care Reimagined: Strategic Plan 2026–2029 and Integrated Services Plan, setting an ambitious direction for outstanding care that is personal, seamless and reimagined. Together, these plans will shape how we improve access, strengthen patient journeys and transitions, evolve models of care, and deliver the right care, in the right place, at the right time, including closer to home.

We are looking for experienced people to join WRHN through focused, short-term contracts and help bring this direction to life. You will step into a complex and fast-moving care environment, quickly build relationships, and work alongside physicians, clinical and operational leaders, interprofessional teams, patients, families and community partners. Successful candidates will be assigned to one or more high-priority initiatives focused on improving access, strengthening patient journeys, redesigning services, and preparing complex work for implementation.

You will be brought in for your expertise, not simply to keep a project moving. We need people who can understand the realities of care delivery, bring structure to complexity, challenge our thinking and establish the models, pathways, plans and structures needed to move important work into implementation.

While the contract may be short term, the opportunity for impact is significant. You will:

  • Help shape how patients’ access, experience and move through care.
  • Work directly with exceptional people delivering and supporting care across WRHN.
  • Hear from patients, families and communities as the work is designed.
  • Leave behind more than a report: clear direction, practical tools, implementation-ready plans and momentum that teams can carry forward.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a related filed
  • Minimum three years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business analysis, quality improvement or a related role
  • Experience working in health care, the broader public sector or another complex and regulated environment is preferred
  • CAPM or PMP designation strongly preferred
  • Lean, Six Sigma, quality-improvement or equivalent process-improvement training is an asset.
  • Exposure to change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter) and practical experience supporting organizational change.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and process improvement software.
