The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an LPN or Medical Assistant for a PRN role at Arbor Creek Medical Pavilion. The position supports ambulatory clinic nursing using the nursing process to coordinate patient care with physicians and the care team.

Responsibilities include triage, medication administration, charting, pre-visit planning, referrals, and patient education. Requires BLS and Kansas/Missouri multi-state LPN licensure, with prior medical office experience preferred.

• Greets patients and prepares them for examination or procedure.
• Administers medications as ordered and observes patient response.
• Assists with preparation of supplies and equipment.
• Ensures accurate and timely chart entries.
• Arranges referrals and pre-authorizations as directed.
• Collects, documents and delivers lab specimens and enters results.
• Notifies patients of test results and follow-up appointments.
• Reviews medications and after-visit instructions with patient/family.
• Responds to calls and screens referrals to RN/MD.
• Performs pre-visit planning by reviewing EMR and ordering labs as needed.
• Completes forms and obtains physician signatures.
