Job summary

EY in Calgary is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Private Tax practice. You will work with specialists advising private organizations and high net worth individuals on domestic and cross-border tax planning, estate and wealth transfer, and postmortem planning.

You will lead tax strategy implementation, liaise with legal counsel and tax authorities, and review personal, corporate and trust returns, within a collaborative team. CPA designation and 5+ years of tax experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major.
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry.
• Possess a Canadian CPA designation.
• Completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Courses (or equivalent) (Good to have)
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
• Possess organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and implement tax strategies that align with the client's objectives.
• Correspond with legal counsel and tax authorities on client issues.
• Assist with reorganizations, researching compliance and planning issues.
• Review personal, corporate and trust tax returns.
