Job summary

EY in Calgary, Canada is seeking a U.S. Tax Manager to join a team of experienced U.S. tax professionals providing corporate and partnership tax compliance, provisioning, and planning services for multinational clients. The role emphasizes leadership, complex tax work, and collaboration across clients and teams.

You will supervise engagements, develop planning ideas, and deliver high-quality tax services while leveraging EY's Total Rewards program and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field with minimum 5 years of U.S. Tax experience.
• U.S. CPA designation or membership in good standing of a state bar or IRS Enrolled Agent.
• Background in tax compliance and accounting for corporate income tax and understanding of U.S. federal, state and local taxes.
• Commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge with junior staff.
• Strong software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with GoSystems, OneSource, CCH, and Checkpoint.
• Ability to analyze complex data and pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships with data quality and timely delivery.
• Experience with REIT taxation and partnership allocations in private equity or real estate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple tax engagements as part of a team delivering compliant services and innovative tax planning.
• Lead preparation and review of U.S. corporate and partnership tax returns for multinational clients.
• Conduct federal and state tax research and draft technical memos on client issues.
• Develop and deliver innovative tax planning ideas aligned with client needs.
• Manage client relationships and ensure data quality, collaboration, and deliverables.
