Job summary

CPP Investments in Toronto seeks a professional for its Real Assets and Private Investment Operations team. You will input trade tickets and accounting entries, support complex transactions, and contribute to portfolio reporting and valuation processes in a fast-paced private markets environment.

You will collaborate with internal investment teams and external asset managers, maintain documentation, and drive process improvements to enhance governance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical, financial, and management accounting skills, with attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to learn new systems and tools.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a high-performing environment and adapt to priorities.
• Interest in pursuing CFA or CPA designation and openness to leveraging AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Input trade tickets and accounting entries accurately, ensuring transacted amounts, supporting documentation, and required authorizations are complete.
• Support the processing of complex transactions and assess implications for accounting, reporting, and performance.
• Complete reports and reconciliations related to portfolio holdings and P&L, identifying issues and escalating concerns.
• Support the quarterly valuation review process and ensure valuation adjustments are recorded.
• Maintain agreements, related documentation, and process documentation, while monitoring reporting requirements and discrepancies.
• Build relationships with internal teams and external asset managers to support issue resolution and controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency while prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
