The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Privacy Specialist Course Developer to lead the design and delivery of an advanced professional certification course in privacy and data protection.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in privacy operations, strong instructional design instincts, and experience successfully delivering one or more of the following certification courses:

• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
• Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE)

As the course creator and instructor, you will collaborate with our internal team and creative professionals to develop an engaging, outcome-focused learning experience that prepares students for certification success and real-world application.

Responsibilities

Course Development & Instruction

• Design and develop a complete, exam-focused course for your certification specialty (CIPP, CIPM, or CDPSE).

• Detailed course syllabus
• Workbook materials and supplemental study guides
• Quizzes, flashcards, and full-length practice exams
• MindMap-style review aids
• Full recorded class sessions (on-demand or live-to-recorded format)
• Privacy law/application scenarios and case studies

Instructional Standards & Collaboration

• Work within our course development “playbook,” or help evolve it to meet the needs of privacy certification training.

• Collaborate with:

• Visual designers (slides, diagrams, and infographics)
• Copy editors and quality control reviewers
• Video editors and e-learning production teams
• AI specialists (for adaptive learning components)

Engagement & Learner Focus

• Integrate adult learning theory, storytelling, real-world application, and instructional best practices.
• Help us shape a high-impact learning experience that delivers exam success and long-term knowledge retention.

Qualifications

Required

• At least one active certification: CIPP, CIPM, or CDPSE
• 5+ years of prior experience teaching, training, or mentoring others in data privacy or compliance
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (or other similar field focused on privacy)
• Proven ability to break down complex regulatory or technical content into accessible instruction
• Comfort working independently and proactively managing deliverables on deadline

Preferred

• Prior experience designing online or hybrid certification courses
• Familiarity with adult learning and instructional design best practices
• Familiarity with common e-learning platforms and tools (e.g., PowerPoint, video recording tools)
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in education or digital course production
