Start Date: August 25, 2025
Contract Type: Part-Time Contract (25–40 hours/week, average ~30 hours/week)
Duration: 1 year with up to 4 optional 1-year extensions
Position Summary
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, through its Information Technology Division (ITD), is seeking experienced Privacy Analyst(s) to support privacy and information protection initiatives within the Government of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate(s) will join the Cybersecurity and Risk Management Branch and play a critical role in ensuring the protection of personal information across information systems and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for complex and/or multi-system IT solutions.
- Perform Privacy Maturity Model Assessments, when required.
- Provide expert guidance on privacy legislation, such as FOIP and HIPA, to internal stakeholders.
- Support privacy breach responses in coordination with Access and Privacy Officers.
- Design and deliver privacy-related training, focus groups, and awareness sessions.
- Review and develop privacy policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Participate in solution design using privacy-by-design principles.
- Conduct privacy risk assessments for initiatives involving sensitive data, including biometrics.
- Contribute to research, analysis, and recommendations to improve privacy protections.
- Review project proposals and proof-of-concepts for access and privacy implications.
- Liaise with internal ministries to strengthen overall privacy and security maturity.
Mandatory Qualifications- Recent experience (within last 5 years) conducting PIAs for complex/multi-system solutions.
- Demonstrated working experience with Federal and Provincial privacy laws, especially but not limited to:
- Saskatchewan’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP)
- The Health Information Protection Act (HIPA)
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience working with the Government of Saskatchewan or similar entities.
- Experience delivering PIAs at the provincial or federal level.
- Knowledge and use of privacy-by-design frameworks.
- Involvement in projects including biometrics and related privacy impacts.
- Ability to conduct privacy-related research and analysis to guide decision-making.
- Experience reviewing IT projects, proposals, and POCs for privacy risks.
- Familiarity with information security standards and best practices.
- Strong project management, scheduling, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Relevant education and/or certifications in fields such as:
- Computer Science
- Business Administration
- Information Security
- Privacy (e.g. CIPP/CIPM/CISSP)
