Privacy & Access Analyst:

Salary Range: $72,479.17 - $83,518.06 Annually

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Privacy & Information Services, the Privacy & Access Analyst is responsible for processing requests for personal information and supporting the processing of requests for general information received under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). The role involves completing privacy impact assessments, assisting with access and privacy projects, developing and delivering training and awareness activities, and supporting the development of internal policies to ensure legislative compliance. The position also involves preparing reports and presentations.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education & Experience:
  • Diploma in Information Management, Public Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying government legislation, policies, and directives, particularly related to freedom of information and privacy, along with skills in negotiation and conflict resolution, managing caseloads, and working in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the Employer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Sound knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and apply knowledge in decision-making.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the organization’s policies, processes, and operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, capable of conveying complex and sensitive information.
  • Analytical skills to handle large amounts of information, resolve issues, and make effective decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise diplomacy, and tact.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and managing multiple issues and projects.
  • Patience, respect, and effective negotiation skills when dealing with diverse public backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and consensus-building skills.
  • Criminal Record Check required.
