Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Principal Technologist in Calgary to lead SME-level delivery of technical solutions, process re-engineering, and seamless support across infrastructure and applications. Responsibilities

  • Develop customer relationships (communications, affiliate services, JV interface).
  • Provide customer front-end support (laptop/tablet, mobility, ITSC, printing, AV, VR).
  • Provide back-end infrastructure support (data and voice network, server, storage, facilities).
  • Productivity solutions and consulting.
  • User education and training.
  • Differentiate and introduce new services (Fuel Terminal systems, Business Lab systems, Process Control Interfaces, radio, microwave, industrial mobility, AR/VR, wearables, industrial wireless, etc.).
  • Project integration and execution.
  • Incident, problem, and change management.
  • Vendor and procurement management.
  • Service integration (global/regional initiatives).
  • Area services (PtP, BCP, DR, ESG, RRT, Legal, S&C, Data Privacy).
  • Stay in sync with, or ahead of, the technology curve (digital literacy).

Job description

Job Title: Principal Technologist

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: $55 - $64 per hour

10+ years' experience in infrastructure (server, wireless, etc.)

MAIN FUNCTION:

Customer Solutions provides best-in-class customer service and IT solutions that enable our business customers to win in the markets they compete in. This includes interfacing with local and global IT service partners and CX regional teams (Americas, EAME, AP) to support the effective delivery of technical solutions, process improvements, and seamless support required to power our businesses.

The role offers a breadth of opportunities and skills across infrastructure, applications, business analysis, and process engineering. It involves working closely with business customers (Upstream, Downstream, Chemical, and Corporate) to understand their needs and deliver increased business value through innovation and advanced technology while sustaining reliability, security, controls, and cost effectiveness.

The Principal Technologist is a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep technical knowledge and expertise in the delivery of technical solutions, process re‑engineering, and seamless support. This individual remains in sync with, or ahead of, the technology curve through strong digital literacy. The role requires in-depth knowledge in more than one focus area and regularly involves mentoring and developing the capabilities of others. The Principal Technologist also participates in external communities to gain industry insights and stay informed on emerging technical developments, translating those insights into potential opportunities for the client.
