We are looking for a Principal Engineer focused on developing world-class traffic management capabilities for Affirm.

What You’ll Do

1. Set the technical vision and strategy for traffic management, capacity planning, and load testing at Affirm.
2. Build and expand traffic management capabilities by applying expertise in retries, circuit breakers, load shedding, and load prioritization.
3. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand service load, develop capacity models, and implement load testing frameworks.
4. Promote innovative, scalable solutions across the organization.
5. Research, prototype, and present new technologies and frameworks.

This role requires an engineer who can convey a clear vision, influence leadership, and lead engineers to impactful results.

What We Look For
