Location : Remote (Within Canada) - Monday to Friday

Description

As the Principal, Mining Engineer at Torex Gold, you will be responsible for managing corporate governance, guiding the site Technical Services teams in producing the company’s technical deliverables, including Life of Mine Plan, Budget, and MRMR. This role will ensure consistent technical input across all operations and projects used in business planning, ensuring the timely delivery of technical documents annually.

The Company

Torex Gold is an intermediate gold producer based in Canada, engaged in exploration, development, and operation of its Morelos Property in Guerrero Gold Belt, Mexico. Its principal asset is the Morelos Complex, including the El Limón Guajes Mine, Media Luna Mine, EPO Project, processing plant, and infrastructure. Production started in 2016, with an updated Technical Report released in March 2022.

Key strategic objectives include full production of Media Luna, optimization of Morelos operations, reserve growth, disciplined growth and capital allocation, talent retention, and responsible mining leadership.

What We're Looking for

• University degree in Mining Engineering.
• 15+ years in the mining industry, in industrial or consulting roles.
• Expertise in Underground mining, with Open Pit experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• P. Eng designation or eligibility.
• Ability to travel (20%).
• Intermediate Spanish preferred.

Key Accountabilities

Life of Mine Planning

• Develop and maintain documentation for the LOM Plan and Reserves.
• Review assumptions and data for the LOM and Reserves process.
• Report results to stakeholders.
• Participate in audits.
• Conduct regular site visits.
• Improve governance processes.

Site-Wide Production Optimization

• Contribute to mine plan optimization.
• Educate site team on optimization purposes.
• Assist with mining technology evaluations and business cases.
