Job summary

PRI Engineering Corp. is seeking a Principal, Hydrotechnical to lead the technical side of our hydrotechnical practice as we grow toward a national firm. You will oversee dam safety reviews, hydraulic modeling, and river engineering, while mentoring EITs toward P.Eng.

Qualifications

• P.Eng in good standing with EGBC, or eligible for registration (APEGA/PEO a strong asset).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a water resources or hydrotechnical focus.
• Minimum 12 years hydrotechnical experience with a record of sealing consequential work.
• Direct experience leading and sealing Dam Safety Reviews and inspections; knowledge of CDA guidelines and dam safety regulations in at least one of BC, Alberta, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for the practice across offices.
• Own technical reviews and professional sign-off on dam safety reports and hydraulic models.
• Lead and seal Dam Safety Reviews and inspections; act as Engineer of Record as needed.
• Direct flood and dam breach analyses, EMS, spillway/outlet works design, and OMS manuals.
• Maintain and advance technical standards, modelling protocols, and quality management.
• Mentor engineers, EITs, and technologists toward P.Eng. with EGBC/APEGA/PEO.
• Manage workload planning with sector VPs and Project Managers; support recruitment.
