Job summary

Myticas Consulting Inc. is seeking a Principal Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer in Ottawa, Ontario, for a one-year contract. The role owns end-to-end embedded architecture, from requirements through hardware selection and release readiness.

You will define system architecture across MCUs, RTOS or bare-metal stacks, drivers, middleware, power management, boot/OTA, and security. Collaboration with global teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in embedded systems design and development.
• Deep understanding of RTOS, multithreaded software, and bare-metal development.
• Experience with secure boot, cryptography, threat modeling, and embedded security.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end embedded architecture from requirements to release readiness.
• Define system architecture across MCUs, RTOS or bare-metal stacks, drivers, and middleware.
• Lead decisions on cost, performance, power, and time-to-market.
• Mentor development and test engineers and guide design reviews.
