Job summary

SRK Consulting is seeking a principal-level Geology consultant in Toronto to perform belt- to deposit-scale structural analysis and interpretation of mineralized systems. You will engage in fieldwork, 3D modeling, and geophysical interpretation throughout exploration and mining project development.

The successful candidate will grow their consulting skills, establish client relationships, and contribute to a diverse, international mining team with opportunities for travel and leadership

Qualifications

• 10+ years of applied structural geology experience in exploration or operational capacity.
• Proficiency with GIS and Leapfrog 3D modeling software.
• Mining/metals exploration experience.
• Professional membership of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) or the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), or eligibility to obtain it.
• Strong theoretical background with demonstrated competence in defining applied solutions.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to generate, implement, and complete projects.
• An established network within the mining industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dynamic and energetic leadership skills, including the ability to mentor younger consultants.

Our North American structural geology group is the largest within SRK, with a diverse cross-section of structural geologists.

Key Responsibilities

As a principal-level consultant within this team, your responsibilities will include the belt- to deposit-scale structural analysis and interpretation of mineralized systems. Our work incorporates field analysis, advanced 3D modeling, and geophysical interpretation applied from early exploration through mining project development (including resource and engineering studies) to operational support.

An important aspect of working for SRK will be the development of your consultancy. We encourage all engineers and scientists to grow your consulting skills under the broad SRK umbrella; the successful applicant will therefore be expected to establish and maintain client relationships.

Essential Requirements

A postgraduate degree specializing in the structural geology of ore deposits.

• 10+ years of applied structural geology experience in an exploration or operational capacity, including field-oriented, belt- to deposit-scale structural analysis and the interpretation of mineralized systems
• Proficiency with GIS and 3D modeling software (Leapfrog)
• Mining/metals exploration experience
• Professional membership of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO) or the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), or eligibility to obtain it

Additional Beneficial Experience

In this position, you will work in multidisciplinary teams on projects around the world and will be required to travel internationally.

Benefits and Pay

The estimated base pay range for this position is $160,000–$200,000+. In accordance with Ontario pay transparency requirements, the posted range reflects the maximum allowable range width; compensation above this range will be considered based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
