Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of cloud/platform engineering experience in enterprise or regulated environments.
• Proven experience delivering and operating Azure environments.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale Azure platforms.
• Experience building foundational cloud platform capabilities and shared services.
• Leadership experience across large projects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure.

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to join one of our big 5 banking clients. This is a senior, hands-on engineering position for an individual contributor who thrives in designing, building, automating, and operating cloud platforms used by multiple engineering teams.

As a technical subject matter expert, you will help drive large-scale cloud initiatives while partnering closely with engineering, security, risk, and architecture teams. The successful candidate will bring deep platform engineering expertise, strong Infrastructure-as-Code and automation skills, and experience building shared cloud services that support large, complex organizations. The role will play a key part in accelerating Azure adoption while ensuring security, scalability, governance, and operational excellence across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain shared platform capabilities that support multiple technology teams across the organization.
• Build reusable cloud components, deployment patterns, and self-service capabilities to accelerate Azure adoption.
• Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and modern cloud automation frameworks.
• Develop automation, tooling, and operational solutions using Python.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps capabilities that improve platform consistency, efficiency, and reliability.
• Implement Azure landing zones, networking, identity, governance, and security controls.
• Partner with engineering teams to establish standardized platform patterns and cloud best practices.
• Design solutions with scalability, resiliency, observability, governance, and operational excellence in mind.
• Collaborate with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead complex technical initiatives and influence platform strategy across multiple teams and stakeholders.
