Job summary

lululemon is seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer to define enterprise AI strategies and build scalable platforms within the Enterprise Data & AI group. You will shape the AI platform and governance while guiding teams across product, architecture, and security.

You will lead hands-on development of AI services, model lifecycle, and observability, mentoring engineers and representing the company at industry events. On-call may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 11-15+ years of progressive software engineering and AI/ML engineering experience with enterprise-scale AI systems.
• Expert-level coding ability with production-grade AI/ML systems, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in system design for complex ML solutions and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience defining implementation strategies for cross-organizational AI initiatives.
• Advanced experience with implementing AI/ML engineering solutions using Python, Spark, Airflow, MLflow, feature stores, vector databases, model serving platforms, Kubernetes, and modern MLOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise AI/ML engineering vision and strategy for the AI platform and services.
• Drive major AI initiatives across the enterprise with scalable, reliable and cost-effective solutions.
• Demonstrate hands-on coding proficiency when needed for critical components.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, product, and Data & AI teams to shape company-wide AI architecture.
• Lead design of foundation model services and generative AI solutions.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop the next generation of AI leaders.
