Principal – Kumsheen ShchEma-meet School (Lytton, BC)
School District No. 74 (Gold Trail) invites applications for the position of Principal at Kumsheen ShchEma-meet School. The school is a kindergarten to grade 12 school, enrolling approximately 78 students, of which 92% are of Indigenous ancestry. The staff is committed to working together to meet the needs of our diverse learners through the school’s Action Plan for Learning.
The successful applicant must have a basic understanding of First Nations culture, language and traditions in the school setting and ensure that Indigenous knowledge is valued and embedded into the curriculum. The successful applicant must have a proven record of fostering positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and communities through effective communication and relationship building.
