Job summary

Native Counselling Services of Alberta in Red Deer is seeking a compassionate full-time caregiver for evenings and overnights in our housing facilities. The role focuses on safety, supportive guidance, and serving as a positive role model for residents.

Ideal candidates have Indigenous knowledge, trauma-informed understanding, strong time management, reliability, and excellent communication. Proficiency with computers and a willingness to learn are valued, with a commitment to confidentiality

Qualifications

• In-depth experience and working knowledge of Indigenous communities, cultures, healing and language.
• Demonstrated understanding of historic trauma and the impact of colonization on Indigenous people.
• Excellent time management, ability to prioritize work, should be self motivated and able to take initiatives to ensure safety of all.
• Must be dependable, dress appropriately for the position.
• Good working knowledge of computers and information technology.
• Ability to work as a team with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality, maintain professional boundaries, and open to learning.
• Strong interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, leadership and time management skills.
• Previous experience working with multi-barrier individuals is an asset.
• Up to date criminal record check, child intervention check and driver's abstract.

Responsibilities

• To monitor and observe the static and dynamics security functions to ensure the care and well being of residents and community remain safe while providing ongoing supports as required.
• Responsible for supporting individuals in their self growth in a safe, healthy environment.
• To work the 12:00 am - 8:00 am shift, Sunday to Thursday (Full-Time Evenings), or
• To work the 4:00 pm -12:00 am shift, Monday to Friday (Full-Time Overnights).

Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) is committed to providing culturally relevant and holistic services to individual residents within our housing facilities in the city of Red Deer. The facilities provide housing for individuals who are working to change their life situations. The individuals we are looking for must be dependable, willing to support and be a role model for the residents as they work toward living a healthy holistic lifestyle.

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

Starting Range: $50,000 annual
