Job description

Position Summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced, efficient, and self-directed Primary Care Assistant. This role supports Primary Care providers and the Interprofessional Team (IPT) in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality primary care services across Northern Health. The assistant provides operational and administrative support in clinics and community settings, aligned with Northern Health policies and procedures.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work:

Mon/Wed and every second Friday, Days - 09:00 to 16:00

Primary and Community Care

Northern Health emphasizes person and family-centered care through integrated health care teams, including doctors, nurse practitioners, and other professionals, to improve long-term health outcomes.

The Chetwynd Primary Care Clinic features over 6,000 sq ft of nature-inspired design, 12 exam rooms, office space, and a CPR room with AED. Services include:

  • Public health nursing
  • Home and community nursing
  • Home Support
  • Aboriginal Liaison
  • Mental Health and Addictions

Weekly specialized services such as dental, dietitian, and audiology are also offered.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Graduation from an Office Assistant Course from an accredited Community College plus two years of recent, relevant healthcare experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
