The Pricing Manager will lead and manage a team of Pricing Specialists, responsible for driving the company's pricing strategy across our regional operations. As the manager of the Pricing Team, you will oversee the development and execution of pricing strategies that align with our overall business goals. You will manage a team of pricing specialists who implement these strategies, ensure pricing compliance, and optimize pricing across all regions to meet budgetary and performance objectives.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on management skills, with the ability to analyze data, collaborate with key stakeholders, and make decisions that support the long-term goals of the company. The Pricing Team Manager will work closely with senior leadership, the practice leadership teams, and other business partners to ensure that the company’s pricing strategy is aligned with market trends, business objectives, and financial goals.

The Pricing Team Manager will report to Director, Pricing & Catalogue Management.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Pricing Specialists, ensuring they have the tools, training, and guidance to succeed.
  • Set clear goals for the team and provide direction and support to achieve KPIs related to pricing strategy implementation, pricing performance, and business goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, provide feedback, and evaluate individual and team performance.
  • Ensure alignment of the Pricing Team’s work with broader business objectives, making sure strategic priorities are clearly communicated and implemented across the team.

Pricing Strategy & Execution

  • Oversee the development and execution of the company's overall pricing strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Practice Leadership, and other key stakeholders to define pricing assumptions, goals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of pricing strategies across multiple regions, ensuring consistency and adherence to established policies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of pricing strategies and adjust as needed based on data analysis, market feedback, and changing business conditions.
  • Analyze regional pricing performance, identifying areas of opportunity and risk, and providing actionable insights to leadership.

Reporting & Insights

  • Work closely with the Data & Finance teams to understand and report on the effectiveness of current pricing strategies, including performance to targets. Cleary understand and communicate any deviations to plan and reforecast actions in place to meet budget plans.
  • Oversee development and implementation tools and processes for improved pricing reporting and analysis across regions.
  • Utilize market data, competitive analysis, and industry trends to refine pricing strategies and stay ahead of market demands.
  • Provide clear, actionable reporting on pricing insights to executives and field team leaders.

Training & Development

  • Oversee the creation and delivery of pricing training for both internal teams and field staff, ensuring alignment with pricing strategy and operational goals.
  • Develop, update, and ensure adherence to Pricing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work with the Central Services & Communications teams to deliver consistent messaging around pricing, billing accuracy, and pricing compliance.
  • Develop and distribute best practices, policies, and operating procedures to improve pricing accuracy and consistency across the organization.

Regional Pricing Support & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the practice leadership team and finance teams to conduct regular reviews of clinic pricing performance, providing strategic recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure seamless communication with regional clinic staff to understand pricing challenges, provide guidance, and implement improvements.
  • Lead pricing compliance efforts, proactively monitoring pricing and billing accuracy across all clinics.
  • Address ad-hoc pricing inquiries, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience managing diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience in pricing strategy, financial analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both executive teams and front-line staff.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, and O365 Suite. Knowledge of analytics tools is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a veterinary or healthcare-related environment is an asset but not required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to resolve challenges.
  • Passion for pets and veterinary medicine is a plus.
