Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Stoney Creek, Ontario, is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician to manage parts inventory and support maintenance operations for construction and forestry equipment.

The role emphasizes inventory control, process optimization, and collaboration with operations teams to ensure timely parts availability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong oral communication skills.
• High mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Willing to work after-hours and/or shift-work.
• Recent driver’s abstract required.
• Experience operating, servicing, and/or maintaining agricultural, automotive, or heavy equipment.
• Trades experience to 2nd/3rd-year apprentice level encouraged.
• Proven service-oriented background with customers and equipment operators.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for managing all aspects of parts inventory within parts system.
• Optimize Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Grow profitable parts sales.
• Coordinate a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork.
• Work with Operations & Service Managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
• Analyze departmental operations and storage layout and revise as needed for maximum effectiveness.
• Maintain a high performance parts team through hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management in a safe environment.
• Exercise disciplined expense control.
• Ensure superior external and internal parts customer service through staff scheduling to cover business hours.
• Work with product support and manufacturing groups to source and stock internally manufactured product parts.
• Develop annual parts sales business plan and budget to include support to other Brandt branches.
• Work with the Sales departments to maximize cross marketing opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Be Responsible For

What We Look For

• Motivated, energetic, and have strong oral communication skills
• Willing to work after-hours and/or participate in shift-work as required to support customer needs
• High degree of mechanical aptitude
• A recent driver’s abstract will be required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have experience operating, servicing, and/or maintaining agricultural, automotive, or heavy equipment
• Candidates with trade experience to a second- or third-year apprentice level are encouraged to apply
• Proven experience in contributing in a service-oriented environment working directly with customers and equipment operators are key assets
