Job summary

Airswift seeks a Pressure Equipment Integrity Engineer (or Technologist) for a long-term contract in Alberta/BC with focus on pressure equipment integrity across field locations. You will assess inspection reports, evaluate equipment condition, and ensure safe operation of pressure vessels, piping, tanks, and relieving devices, collaborating with Asset Integrity and Operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years in oil & gas operations.
  • Mandatory ABSA ISI, TSASK Class 2, or National Board IS certification.
  • Engineering degree or related technical discipline.
  • API 510/570/653 and ASME VIII/B31.3 certifications are assets.
  • Familiarity with API 510/570/653 and related codes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all elements of the Pressure Equipment Integrity program for vessels, piping and tanks.
  • Coordinate turnaround and maintenance with field integrity technicians to ensure on-schedule compliance.
  • Plan, perform and document integrity assessments and set inspection intervals.
  • Review NDE results and corrosion assessments per AB-506 and guidance.
  • Compute remaining life in accordance with API 510/570 and National Board standards.
  • Monitor corrosion trends and inspection data to optimize intervals and mitigate risk.
  • Identify equipment requiring repair and escalate findings; maintain Maxi Trak V4 records.

Job description

Our valued client, a key Oil & Gas producer are seeking a Pressure Equipment Integrity Engineer (Or Technologist) to join their team on a long term contract basis. This will be a one year contract to start but there is a lot of opportunity for growth in this team and will turn into a long term assignment for the right person.

Role Overview

This position supports pressure equipment integrity across field locations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. The successful candidate will assess inspection reports, evaluate equipment condition, and ensure safe, compliant operation of pressure vessels, pressure piping, storage tanks, and pressure‑relieving devices. The role works closely with Asset Integrity and Operations teams to execute integrity programs and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pressure Equipment Integrity — Execute all elements of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Program for vessels, piping, and tanks.
  • Turnaround & Maintenance Alignment — Coordinate with field integrity technicians to ensure inspections, repairs, and compliance activities are completed on schedule.
  • Integrity Assessments — Plan, perform, and document integrity assessments; assign regulatory inspection intervals.
  • Inspection Review — Evaluate NDE results, corrosion assessments, and engineering recommendations using ABSA AB‑506 and other regulatory guidance.
  • Remaining Life Calculations — Perform calculations in accordance with API 510, API 570, and National Board standards.
  • Corrosion & Damage Mechanisms — Monitor corrosion trends, degradation rates, and inspection data to optimize inspection intervals and mitigate risk.
  • Repair Identification — Identify equipment requiring repair and escalation findings appropriately.
  • Data Management — Maintain pressure equipment records in Maxi Trak V4 and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry codes, and internal procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of oil & gas experience
  • ABSA ISI, TSASK Class 2, or National Board IS certification (mandatory)
  • Engineering degree, Engineering Technology diploma, or related technical discipline preferred
  • API 510, API 570, API 653 certifications considered strong assets
  • Familiarity with API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3
  • Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms, NDE methods, and pressure equipment regulatory frameworks
