We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various press equipment and machining tools to produce high-quality metal components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with CNC machinery, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Pay Rate: $22/hour - $25/hour (based on experience)
Shifts: Nights 11pm - 7:15am. (must be flexible to work all shifts)
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor stamping presses to ensure precise metal forming according to specifications
- Load and feed raw materials into the press and monitor production throughout the run.
- Inspect stamped parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other measuring equipment for dimensional inspections.
- Identify defective parts and make appropriate adjustments or notify the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Perform basic machine adjustments, troubleshooting, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
- Assist with die changes, tooling setup, and press changeovers as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine proper machine settings
- Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment, including calipers and hand tools, to maintain optimal operation
- Adjust machine parameters as needed for different production runs, ensuring consistent quality
- Conduct quality inspections of finished parts using measurement tools and visual checks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Follow safety guidelines related to crane operation, forklift handling, and other heavy equipment
Skills
- Previous experience operating stamping presses or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in metal stamping or automotive manufacturing is an asset.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, and basic technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of press tooling and die operations.
- Ability to use calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Previous forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.
