Role Overview: This role involves overseeing digital, radio, and television program presentation, primarily at the Toronto Broadcast Centre. The technician will manage playback systems, ensure quality standards, and troubleshoot operational issues, often under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform presentation operations for digital, radio, and TV programs.
  2. Conduct checks, adjustments, and alignments to maintain equipment performance.
  3. Monitor and control signals, ensuring standards are met and reporting issues promptly.
  4. Operate and maintain presentation systems.
  5. Manage live news and current affairs broadcasts, handling multiple sources and programming changes.
  6. Assist in resolving operational problems in the absence of supervisors.
  7. Coordinate and train other staff on technical operations.
  8. Advise partners on technical needs.

Candidate Profile:

  • Willing to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a 24/7 on-site operation.
  • Knowledge of digital streaming, radio, and TV production, typically acquired through college or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of related broadcast technician experience.
  • Functional bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of server environments, Avid, Dalet+, iNews, Windows OS, and automated presentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly adapt, and solve problems creatively.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive attitude and team-oriented approach.
