Job summary

IWK Health is seeking a dedicated professional to provide direct services to preschool-age children with autism and their families. You will deliver standardized interventions across PPAS streams, in centres or community settings, under the supervision of Clinical Interventionists and Speech Language Pathologists.

Travel to sites across Nova Scotia is required, and candidates should have a relevant degree and current BLS and First Aid credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Child and Youth Studies is required.
• Bachelor’s in Education with two years’ experience with young children with disabilities is expected.
• Recent experience working with children 0–7 with developmental disabilities, especially autism, is required.
• BLS within 12 months or renewal completed.
• First Aid certification is required.
• Equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism values must be demonstrated.
• Proficiency with standard office software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service to preschool-age children with autism and their families.
• Deliver standardized, evidence-based interventions across PPAS streams.
• Work in centre-based or community-based locations (clinics, homes, childcare centers).
• Collaborate under supervision of Clinical Interventionists and Speech Language Pathologists.
• Travel to various sites as needed.
