Job summary

IWK Health, a leading academic health sciences centre, is hiring a Program Implementer for Provincial Preschool Autism Services in the Northern Zone (Truro). You will deliver autism-focused interventions to preschool children and coach families, under supervision of clinicians, across multiple settings in Nova Scotia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Child and Youth Studies required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education plus two years’ experience with young children with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Recent experience working with young children (0-7 years) with developmental disabilities, autism required.
• BLS certification current within 12 months or renewal required.
• First Aid certification required.
• Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Direct service provision to preschool-age children with autism and their families.
• Deliver standardized PPAS interventions based on applied behaviour analysis.
• Provide intervention in centre-based or community-based locations (clinics, homes, childcare centres, classrooms).
• Work under supervision of Clinical Interventionists and Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Travel will be required.
• Support family-centered care and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
