Pickford & Black

Pickford and Black is a high-volume restaurant located on the waterfront of downtown Halifax. Our kitchen team strives to use the best of what the Maritimes has to offer to create a delicious menu that incorporates not only amazing fresh seafood but also farm-fresh local produce, meats, and poultry.

As a Prep Cook, You Will

  • Complete daily preparation of food
  • Ensure food is prepped with high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
  • Organize work areas as well as storage areas
  • Maintain a high standard of safety and sanitation
  • Communicate with kitchen staff, cooks, sous chef, and the Head Chef
  • Follow instructions as directed by the Sous Chef or Head Chef
  • Assist in all areas of the kitchen as required
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Clean kitchen and work area
  • Follow all operations policies and procedures
  • Work alongside the restaurant team to establish a safe and fun atmosphere
