Job summary

SPX Technologies / Sigma-Omega Corporation in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Assembler for a full-time role. You will assemble products to engineering drawings, operate safely, and contribute to continuous improvement in a 120,000 sq ft facility with a focus on quality and efficiency.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to read work orders, and the stamina to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, interpret and execute work according to engineering drawings.
• Mechanical/electrical aptitude, hands-on with tools.
• Read work orders and complete tasks on time.
• Problem solving and a solution-oriented approach to abnormalities.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices.
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• General knowledge of manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Clean and maintain work area during and after shift.
• Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety guidelines.
• Assemble products per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Complete production orders with high quality within standard time.
• Troubleshoot production issues as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
