Job summary
Maple Leaf Foods Inc. in Ontario is seeking a skilled Machinist for our Burlington plant. The role requires a technical diploma and a valid Machinist certificate (429A) with welding credentials desirable.
You will fabricate, repair and assemble precision parts using CNC and manual equipment, while maintaining safety standards. Join a high-performance team focused on quality and food-safety compliance. Experience with stainless steel, aluminum and plastics is a plus, and mentorship to apprentices
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Ontario Machinist 429A, technical diploma preferred; welding certs are a plus.
- Experience with production tools and metals; stainless steel and aluminum a benefit.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and work-process docs.
- Build dies, tools, and prototypes using CNC and manual machines.
- Perform precision measurements with specialized tools.
- Welding using TIG/MIG, SMAW, GMAW and stick welding.
- Operate CNC Lathe/Milling, waterjet, brake press; close-tolerance parts.
