Job summary

Gea Group in Canada seeks a repair welder and grinder to repair centrifuge components, focusing on separator bowls and decanter scrolls. Perform high-precision TIG welding, MIG welding, PTA welding, and flame spraying for hard facing.

Extensive grinding, surface preparation, and polishing of stainless steel and wear surfaces complete the work. Responsibilities include repairing cracks, wear areas, and defects; build up worn surfaces to original geometry; ensure weld integrity and controlled heat

Qualifications

• Advanced TIG welding on stainless steel and machined parts.
• Experience with MIG and PTA welds for hard facing and rebuilds.
• Ability to read and interpret repair drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality TIG welding on stainless steel and centrifuge components.
• Execute MIG welding for structural repairs and build up work.
• Apply PTA welding for precision hard facing of wear surfaces.
• Use flame spraying for surface restoration and wear protection.
• Build up worn surfaces to restore original geometry and tolerances.
• Ensure weld integrity, penetration, and metallurgical quality.
• Control heat input to minimize distortion and verify surface finish.
• Perform grinding, beveling, and surface preparation for welds.
• Remove coatings and prepare surfaces for repair and finishing.
• Polish stainless steel components to required finish and hygiene specs.
• Adhere to safety procedures during welding, grinding, and treatment.
