Job summary

QinetiQ in Medicine Hat, AB, is seeking a temporary Production Operator to participate in the manufacture, repair, and testing of assemblies for uncrewed vehicles and support equipment.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight schedules in an on-site environment. Training and collaboration with Engineering and Supervisors are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to read drawings.
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic under high stress and tight schedules.
• High attention to detail.
• Flexibility to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products accurately and efficiently according to established guidelines, build instructions and drawings.
• Test final systems and sub-assemblies under supervision of the Production Supervisor or competent Production Operator.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitor the production process and conduct regular quality checks.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and report any defects or issues.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Assist in training new Production Operators, if required.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist Engineering with the creation of acceptance test documentation, engineering memorandums and review of draft drawings and documentation.
• Support incoming inspections to support the ISO-9001 Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with QinetiQ values, ISO standards, and internal policies.
