Job summary

dcbel Inc. designs and sells residential energy products that enable solar charging of EVs and power backup. We seek experienced technical sales engineers to support demonstrations, webinars, and technical product information for installers, home builders, and partner programs.

You will own RFI/RFP responses, deliver technical content for proposals, and lead partner presentations with utilities and OEMs. A strong background in DER, power electronics, and IoT protocols is essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in a technical, product-focused pre-sales or applications engineering role in the energy industry.
• Demonstrable experience supporting selling in a technical/product-focused role in the energy industry.
• Direct experience with distributed energy resources (solar, storage, EV charging, V2X).
• First-hand field experience: commissioning, installation oversight, site troubleshooting, or utility pilot deployments.
• Solid working knowledge of power electronics—inverters, bidirectional DC/DC and DC/AC conversion, protection and safety.
• Knowledge of EV charging communication protocols (ISO 15118) and DER integration protocols (IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR).
• IoT and site-level communication protocols (MQTT, Modbus TCP/RTU, SunSpec, Zigbee/Matter).
• Comfortable with logs, packet captures, API documentation and lab/field tests to diagnose issues live with a customer or partner.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical content of customer proposals, including RFI/RFP/RFQ responses and grant funding opportunities.
• Lead technical partner presentations and deep-dive sessions with utilities, aggregators, and automotive OEMs.
• Support Channel Sales and partners with technical product information, demos, and webinars.
• Pre-Sales with focus on B2B discovery, qualification, presentation, and Q&A; enable sales with product evangelization.
