Job summary

Integrated Staffing Limited is seeking experienced Structural Ironworkers and Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erectors for a full-time project in the St. John's area. The role focuses on erecting steel structures, installing panels, and working with crane-assisted construction on commercial facilities.

Expect 44-hour work weeks with Monday-Thursday 7:00 AM–4:30 PM and Friday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, for a four-month assignment. Safety-focused environment with training opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Erect structural steel building systems according to engineered drawings and specifications.
• Install structural steel and building components including columns, rafters, beams, joists, bracing, wall panels, insulation, trims, openings, and related systems.
• Read and interpret structural and erection drawings.
• Assist with unloading, organizing, and staging materials.
• Perform bolting, fastening, drilling, cutting, fitting, and field modifications as required.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, grinders, drills, and other construction equipment.
• Work with cranes, rigging systems, and aerial access equipment.
• Inspect completed work for quality, alignment, and weather-tightness; report issues.

Job description

We're hiring experienced Structural Ironworkers and Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erectors for a full-time, approximately 4-month commercial construction project in the St. John's area.

We're looking for individuals with experience installing steel structures, wall panels, cladding, girts, purlins, standing seam roofing systems, and other commercial building components. Candidates with backgrounds in metal building erection, steel erection, connector work, rigging, bolt-up, and crane-assisted construction are strongly encouraged to apply.

If you've worked on warehouses, industrial buildings, commercial facilities, mining projects, fabrication yards, or other steel construction projects, your experience may be exactly what we're looking for.

Key responsibilities include:

• Erecting structural steel building systems according to engineered drawings and specifications
• Install structural steel and building components including columns, rafters, beams, joists, bracing, secondary framing, wall panels, insulation, trims, flashings, openings, door framing, louvers, gutters, downspouts, and related systems.
• Reading and interpreting structural and erection drawings
• Assisting with unloading, organizing, and staging materials
• Performing bolting, fastening, drilling, cutting, fitting, and field modifications as required
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, grinders, drills, and other construction equipment
• Working with cranes, rigging systems, and aerial access equipment
• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality, alignment, and weather-tightness and reporting damages, missing, or improperly fabricated components.
• Participating in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area

Monday to Thursday

• 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Friday

• 15-minute break at 9:00 AM
• 30-minute lunch from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM
• 15-minute break at 3:00 PM

Standard Work Week:

REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skills

• Previous experience erecting pre-engineered metal buildings
• Experience with structural steel erection
• Experience installing metal roofing and wall cladding systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction and erection drawings
• Experience working safely at heights
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments

Assets

• Experience operating boom lifts and scissor lifts
• Knowledge of rigging, signaling, and crane-assisted erection procedures
• Valid driver's licence
• Reliable transportation
• Experience with Butler, Robertson, Varco Pruden, Behlen, Steelway , or similar pre-engineered metal building systems

• Work safely around cranes, heavy equipment, and active construction operations
