Job summary

SKYGRiD Construction Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Pre-Construction to lead pursuits and drive pre-construction activities for diverse projects from head office in Mississauga.

The role focuses on planning, scheduling, collaboration with consultants, and value engineering to support successful project delivery. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of on-site high-rise experience, strong reading and coordination of drawings, and proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of on-site construction experience on high-rise projects.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using MS Project from early works to occupancy.
• Review logistics plans, drawings, specs, and reports to identify constructability issues and risks.
• Lead procurement and tendering activities, coordinate RFIs, evaluate bids, and prepare award recommendations.
• Identify drawing/specification deficiencies, coordinate with consultants to resolve issues during pre-construction.
• Analyze design alternatives to improve buildability, value, and cost.
• Facilitate pre-construction meetings with clients, consultants, and trades; prepare meeting minutes and action logs.
• Maintain project documentation; prepare reports and support continuous improvement of processes.
• Perform additional assignments as required.
