Job summary

Iconic Power Systems in Calgary is seeking experienced Powerline Technicians to install and maintain high voltage power systems in the field. A strong safety-first mindset and teamwork are essential.

You will work on overhead and underground lines, read blueprints, and supervise apprentices while ensuring code compliance and quality. This role emphasizes reliability and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Experience in installation and maintenance of high voltage power system equipment.
• Ability to read drawings and electrical code specifications.
• Strong focus on safety and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Construct overhead and underground power lines and related equipment.
• Assist supervision of contracted labour and crews.

We are currently looking for a Powerline Technicians in the Calgary area.

The successful candidates will be experienced in the installation and maintenance of high voltage power system equipment.

Duties

• Construction of overhead and underground power lines, and related utility equipment
• Assist in the supervision of contracted labour (construction crews, hydrovac etc).
• Assist with construction of ductbanks, conduit and cable installations.
• Provide accurate field checks and reports.
• Cable Installation and Terminations
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specification
• Install, alter, repair and maintain various electrical systems and related equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and to ensure compliance with code
• QA/QC documentation
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Comply with standards and procedures of the Iconic Power Systems Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
• Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
• Provide leadership and guidance to apprentices and laborers

Employment Pre-requisites and Requirements

• A Background Check and Drug & Alcohol testing is a mandatory requirement of this position.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (class 1 or 3 is an asset)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
