Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies seeks an Apprentice Lineman to assist in the construction and maintenance of power systems, replacing or repairing lines, substations, and accessories across Ontario.

The role emphasizes safety and teamwork within a project-driven schedule, including 21 days on/7 days off rotations and travel to project sites. Candidates should have at least 6 months in powerline work, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work overtime and weekends as project needs

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in Powerline or related industry.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving abstract.
• Be willing to travel to project sites and work on Ontario transmission line projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high and low voltage transmission and distribution electrical grid.
• Troubleshoot and repair overhead distribution and transmission lines.
• Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and modify high and low voltage transmission and distribution of electrical grid.
• Maintain interior, exterior, overhead, and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Install and maintain cables forming part of power distribution systems.
• Assist in the construction, maintenance and removal of underground and overhead power lines and equipment.
• Communicate effectively and take/provide direction within a team.
• Work safely and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
