Job description

Are you an experienced PowerBuilder developer looking for your next contract? Do you have a minimum of ten (10) years experience developing new application solutions, upgrading existing applications, and providing ongoing support?

Contract Details

We are seeking a PowerBuilder Developer for an initial 6-month contract with potential extensions.

Responsibilities

1. Provide detailed effort estimates for the software development lifecycle.
2. Assess service requests and recommend solutions.
3. Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure appropriate solutions and technology use.
4. Define development requirements and assist in integrating third-party tools/applications.
5. Participate in quality assurance activities, including design and code reviews, and test script preparation and execution.
6. Review system and integration testing functions.
7. Develop application code, architecture, specifications, and technical interfaces.
8. Test and maintain system components, addressing both functional and non-functional aspects.
9. Analyze data integrity issues and implement solutions.
10. Implement enhancements and additions to existing applications.
11. Provide support for existing systems.
12. Participate in problem resolution.
13. Document application code, system configuration, and maintenance procedures.
14. Contribute to technical guides, deployment documents, and change requests.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of ten (10) years experience in application development and support.
2. Minimum of eight (8) years experience as a PowerBuilder Developer.
3. At least three (3) years experience with relational databases, including stored procedures.
4. Experience maintaining legacy applications for at least eight (8) years.
5. Experience with version control systems (e.g., TFS).
6. Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development.
7. High attention to detail and discretion when handling sensitive data.
8. Knowledge of data processing platforms and enterprise software applications.
9. Understanding of networking, relational databases, and web services standards.
10. Experience with standards, procedures, and guidelines for operational support.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
12. Experience programming in .NET.
13. Experience with systems integration.
14. Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
15. At least five (5) years of client-server application development experience.
