Job summary

NAES Corporation is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician for our Canadian power facility. The role focuses on safe, reliable operation of the 900-MW site, hands‑on control of start/stop of plant equipment, and use of DCS and condition monitoring tools.

You will support predictive and preventive maintenance as part of an O&M team. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with safety systems and lockout/tagout, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a large

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive experience in power plant operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading plant operations during start‑up, shutdown and normal or abnormal conditions.
• Strong technical knowledge of power generation equipment and systems.
• Experience with DCS, instrumentation, electrical systems and monitoring equipment.
• Ability to lead and coordinate outages, lockout/tagout and handover activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable performance.
• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities during outages.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain real-time communication with grid operators and Energy Trading.
• Contribute to development of KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
