Position Overview

A Powerline Technician is expected to discharge the responsibility of and to practice fully his/her trades qualifications.

A Powerline Technician reports to a staff supervisor or delegate.

Responsibilities
-Perform standby duties as assigned.
-Assist in training new employees, apprentices and employees in lower classifications.
-Perform duties normally carried out by a lower classification.

Requirements
-Holder of a Journeyman Powerline Technician Interprovincial Certificate or a Lineman Trades Qualification Certificate.
-Be familiar with and experienced in electric utility transmission and distribution systems, protective and safety devices and their clearances and isolating procedures.
-Holder of a valid Class 3 driver’s licence with air brake endorsement

-Residency requirements: The successful candidate must adhere to the residency requirements of this position.
