SUMMARY

The Power Engineer is a mid-entry level position responsible for assisting technicians, performing maintenance and repairs, and routine services on non-technical facility components. The role also involves working in accordance with established processes and complying with environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards.

This full-time position is located in Edson, AB.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshooting

  • Observe and report on facility and equipment conditions, suggesting improvements.

Maintenance

  • Perform work following established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Monitor and inspect technical and non-technical components.
  • Respond to service requests, perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Operate facility systems.
  • Manage work orders and record data accurately.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs.

Client Relations

  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through quality service.

Administration

  • Document work and monitor maintenance activities.
  • Participate in facility projects.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain tools and submit expenditures timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Facility operations and maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of facility systems and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair non-technical components.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and information.
  • Strong safety awareness and client service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Building Automation Systems.
  • Self-motivated with maintenance skills.

Licenses and/or professional accreditation

  • 5th Class Power Engineering certification or in progress required.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering certification is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's License.
